‘Mise en Abyme’


St. Jacob’s Cathedral

The organ found in St. Jacob’s Cathedral reminds me of a reflecting mirror image of an unending hallway, thus the reason for the title Mise en Abyme, a french term literally meaning ‘placed into an abyss”. It’s more commonly used to describe the visual experience of standing between two mirrors, seeing an infinite reproduction of one’s image.
